Cowings of Massachusetts
Recently I did some research on this family, and the tree broadened significantly over about 6 months of research. I encountered the family through someone who married a Cowing from the South Shore. I did some work that formed the base of the tree. I am not related but it was an interesting family. I was distracting myself from trauma and loss. I was driving almost daily on 128 and heading into Roslindale via Washington Street. Serendipity: one of the cross streets was Cowing Rd. Yes, the family that had owned that land were also related. I learned that the family spread from Boston and Scituate and Weymouth and Quincy to West Roxbury and further south. My research followed the family to my old digs in Chesterfield and Huntington, to Deerfield, to Vermont, to Jamestown NY and to Meadville PA. I will be putting up the information here sometime soon.
